The Full Service Plan: Primarily used by a company who is unable to justify the expense of establishing in-house EDI capability. J-COM will assume all of a Supplier's required Transactions with their selected Trading Partners. The Back-Up/Temporary Service Plan: Designed to provide temporary EDI assistance to companies who are experiencing hardware, software, or communication difficulties. A temporary plan can also prove useful to companies who are trying to implement new Transactions and require help in the interim. Please see Inbound Options and Outbound Options for our full range of options that may be used in the event of communications failure. The Interim Service Plan: Designed for Suppliers who are in the process of installing in-house EDI capability, or adding an additional Trading Partner to existing EDI system. In this case, J-COM will provide back-up services during the period of implementation. Consulting Service: EDI consulting is available for Suppliers who wish to become EDI capable. The consulting will include assistance in hardware and software selection, in-house EDI procedures, and the education required to become independent. Value Added Networks (VANs): EDI data has been traditionally carried through Value Added Networks, which offer a secure way to transfer large amounts of corporate EDI data between any two parties who have a valid mailbox on the network. J-COM International currently utilizes IBM Advantis, G.E. Information Systems, and the Sterling Network to carry a diverse range of EDI data between 6,300 suppliers to over 400 major trading partners.
